Spring has arrived! Get Your Garden In Shape
Spring has arrived! Are you ready to get your garden in shape for the new season? Here are some tips to help you make the most of this time of year:
Make A Plan
Before you start working in the garden, take some time to think about what you want to accomplish. Do you want to add value to your home, grow your own food, or create a relaxing outdoor space? Make a list of the tasks you need to complete to achieve your goals.
Prepare Garden Beds
Start by cutting back any dead plant growth and pulling up any remaining weeds. Dispose of the weeds in the garbage and compost the rest. Then, add finished compost to all your beds by scattering it between plants and let the worms pull it into the soil. This will help to enrich the soil and provide nutrients for your plants.
Lawn Maintenance
Give your lawn some attention by using a slow-release fertilizer and watering it in after. This is the perfect time to do your first lawn fertilizing for the year. Additionally, you can scatter compost lightly on top of your lawn to add nutrients and improve soil quality.
Create Outdoor Living Spaces
Once your garden is in shape, think about how you want to use different areas of your yard for recreation or relaxation. Consider adding seating areas, planting flowers and herbs in pots, or creating a vegetable garden.
Share your success
Finally, don't forget to share your progress with others! Take photos of your newly cleaned garden and share them on social media using a specific hashtag. You might even inspire others to get out and enjoy the beauty of spring.
By following these tips, you'll be able to enjoy a beautiful, productive garden all season long.
